MONDAY 2ND MARCH we found out who our client was and wrote down what we had to do which was to promote the sixth form then we had our first meeting with mr Newman to ask our questions about the commission, the answers that he gave me helped alot because now i have some idea what to focus on and the areas i will need to research , i also started to research the history of advertising and the different agencies i started to put all of them into a presentation we had to research them to see what areas were most important to them.
WEDNESDAY 4TH MARCH
i finished the presentation that i started on monday about the history and the agencies as-well as the television advertising and radio advertising the things we found when we researched were how long each one went on for and also what kind of information was included in it
FRIDAY 6TH MARCH
i started to research the college videos i see what kind of information i needed in mine then over the weekend i research some adverts to see how they attract people and catch peoples eye i also got different leaflets to other colleges to see how they promoted the college and i also got two film posters and the information they put into them
MARCH
i analysised different television adverts and different radio adverts and put them all in my portfolio.i wrote up two different questionnaires one was to current sixth formers asking which type of advertising attracted them to the sixth form and if the information on those advertisments were useful my second questionnaire was too year 11s also asking what type of advertising attracts them, i put all my results into my presentation then i researched the relationship between audiences and advertising as well as the terms for pyschographic and demographic.
APRIL
over the easter holidays i had to research my budget to see how much everything would cost me. i went on two different websites to see how much it would cost to create 500 posters and 1000 handouts the websites were www.1clickprint.com and www.alocalprinter.com then with the radio advert i contacted both BRMB and Galaxy and both of them told me that depending on the time of day and the lenght that it was on the radio station it was between £500 to £800.
MAY
in may i went to see the client to show him my initial ideas as-well as the budget i created . he liked the look of both my layouts and he told me which one he liked the most and told me to use that one because it looked more like a poster instead of the other one which looked like a magazine page we heard what kind of things i wanted to include in my radio and tv advert like the music that i was going to add which were little boots for my tv advert and la roux for my radio advert.
JUNE
i started to create my poster and get all the pictures from around the college and in the class rooms and put together all the text i got from both KNGS and KNBS websites and i also added the sixth form logo and all the contact details, then i started on my script for both my radio advert and for my tv advert and i also did my storyboard for the tv advert
JULY
i filmed my radio and tv advert and then i started to edit them to get the looked i wanted i also finished off my poster i self evaluated everything i did which meant to show my strengths and my weaknesses and what i would change if i need it again everything went into my portfolio.
SEPTEMBER
we went through our portfolio and sorted out the areas we needed to improve and my areas were the research of the agencies because my slides were too small and you could hardly read the text so i put it up a slide.i also had to be more on my actual tv advert because on certain parts the camera moved alot so we had to try and get it still and we did mr cramb helped me do that
